“The Barton Community College Foundation exists to raise private sector funds by providing leadership and to prudently manage gifts to benefit educational opportunities and initiatives of the College.”
Barton Community College Foundation has been transforming into the multi-faceted face of Barton Community College along with the communities and students we serve. In addition to creating funds and making scholarship awards, the foundation raises funds for special projects, builds strong business relationships and coordinates funding sources that enhance college goals and dreams. The foundation also is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the permanent collections of the Shafer Art Gallery and Cohen Center for Kansas History.
The fundraising center for Barton Community College, the foundation is an independent nonprofit corporation that raises funds from private sources to support Barton Community College projects and programs that fall beyond the college’s operating budget. The Barton Foundation was established in 1967 and is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization as classified by the Internal Revenue Service. Your contributions are tax-deductible, within the extent of the law.
With record enrollments and ever growing and evolving venues to deliver education, the foundation has become quite involved with creating new or innovative options for our donors to assist our students and give each student benefits to pursue individualized educational pursuits. The foundation and its donors have also assisted the college in renovating or updating many of the buildings and facilities using new technology and up-to-date techniques to educate and train students to become successful in their fields of study.
We hope you will take time to discover what the foundation is doing to serve the college and Barton students. We are here to make friends, build partnerships, and implement innovative ideas to provide financial assistance through the wonderful generosity of our many donors. The foundation board of directors and staff are committed to the principles of responsible stewardship and to secure sources of funding to maintain maximum student success and access. One of our main objectives is also to meet the desires of our donors; most of us, if given the opportunity would like to create a legacy to show that our lives have made a difference. Education can never be taken away from a person; what they learn is theirs to keep and share. Donors supporting education understand the value of education and know it is an outstanding way to give back to society and to make our world better for future generations.
